Second sound design video tutorial – this time, Funkagenda explains how to create typical Dubstep (upper) Bass sound using NI Massive synth.
Mysterium Music Box is a raw set of chimes. Recorded in stereo, the professional quality Kontakt library boasts a full three octaves and three round robins per note. Mysterium features a completely customizable chord building application along with a simple reverb effect. Lasty, a mysterious slider makes things sound scary.
The price is 2 $ – bargain detected 😉 Full version of NI Kontakt5 (or higher) required.

Nice tutorial by Funkagenda – he explains how to create from scratch that classic Anthemic Mainroom (EDM Genres) sound using the Lennar Digital Sylenth1 software synth. I don’t know why but I like this guy. Probably because he seems to be a positive person also the video lasts 23 minutes, so it’s not 60secs video: “how to create blabla sound”, it’s more like an interesting chit chat 😉
In our latest video tutorial from Dubspot sound design instructor/course designer Evan Sutton, we’ll learn more about making heavy bass using Native Instruments’ Massive, using a chain of waveshapers to create some out-of-this-world textures and mutations
There is a limited time offer (until 7th June) available – 30 % discount on Hamburg Audio NUKLEAR synth. Nuklear is the first virtual instrument based on advanced granular pulse train synthesis. I remember that I spent some time with demo version and indeed, I had a feeling that it is something new and exciting. Especially for those who (just like me) like to tweak knobs 😉 30 % discount means that the price is ~ 118 EUR instead of 169 EUR.
It has a fresh sound that lends itself to many modern styles and allows it to stand out in a mix. Its sequencer is pretty inspirational, and the presets provide a good starting point for learning to program the synth or to simply start making a new track.
In a market full of generic subtractive analogue emulations, we need more synths like Nuklear. (Music Radar’s Review)

Designed for Kontakt 4.2 or above, Ethnic Flute is a generic sounding wooden flute suitable for many styles of World music. The instrument uses velocity switching to give a natural sounding performance simply by playing the split keyboard (staccato notes on the lower keys, various sustained articulations on the upper). A selection of breaths is also included. Volume can be adjusted using the modulation wheel.
Sounds like a bargain (if you need flute 🙂 ) …
The price is 3.99 UK Pounds and the product is available via Sampleism

Shameless promotion 😉 EDM Factory 2 soundset for Sylenth synth is the result of my hobby – sound design. Moving sliders, tweaking knobs make me feel calm, relaxed 🙂 During last half year I spent many evenings doing this and the result is around 140 presets suited for Electronic Dance Music genres. And since I just love melodies, then it’s mostly about leads / synth presets (64), big-room / dance pluck sounds (42) and 32 stylish, modern pad sounds.
The bank is not free, the minimum donation is 15 $, which is, I hope, very fair price (especially compared to 64 preset banks offered for 20-25 $). I use donations to pay hosting (ie. a week ago – 72 $), to have a coffee available when googling for some interesting music production releases etc. 🙂
New soundbank (released 24th May 2013) is available for all Synth1 lovers 🙂
Made a modest demo , 4 short arrangement, using only these presets, as they are, with no external effects, exept some EQ to roll off the bottom end, just to fit better in the mix as you would do normally when making a track. The only external sounds are one kick and one simple percussion loop wich only comes in late in the mix, easily spottable.
Exept some simple volume automation , usually to introduce the main synth, i kept things as simple as possible. The effects you hear ,like delayed voc shouts..etc, are all from the synth ,from untouched presets.

Brzoza is quite interesting 2 operator, 6 modulator synth (each operator has 3 modulators). This freebie has been reviewed in Beat Magazine and is designed to create a wide range of sounds from simple leads and bass patches to more complex evolving textures. Overall, it’s good to see another, interesting FM Synth. I mean, sure it’s not NI FM8 but it’s free and clean UI invites to program some presets 🙂

This acoustic guitar instrument for NI Kontakt (4.2 and above) has a rich, mellow tone. Designed mainly for single note playing, it is suitable for melody lines, instrumental fill passages, solos and riffs within song structures. Convincing results can be easily achieved using velocity sensitivity to introduce a variety of articulations. A selection of string scrapes is also included.
For 4.99 UK Pounds it’s quite a no-brainer, especially if you’re looking for Acoustic Guitar 🙂
